We wish to congratulate MiCRop associated Stalin Sarango-Flores for succesfully defending his PhD! Stalin's PhD, titled "Microbial footprints of Tomato domestication" focussed on wild tomatoes in their natural habitats in their center of origin (Ecuador) and modern tomatoes in agricultural settings. He looked at how the domestication process has shaped the diversity, structure and functional potential of the root-microbiome and thereby uncovered valuable information for the project.
