We are so proud to say that Melissa Uribe Acosta is the first PhD candidate of the MiCRop consortium to have succesfully defended her thesis "No boundaries, no benefits: The role of root defense barriers in microbiome assembly". We wish to congratulate her on behalf of the whole consortium!

As her supervisor Corné Pieterse wrote in an equally enthusiastic LinkedIn post: If one sheep jumps over the ditch, the rest will follow. 

With that said, we look forward to all the PhD defenses still to come.
